Weekly Pursuit 09 - The Best Leaders Build People

WEEKLY PURSUIT with Ryan

Helping you pursue God, people, and purpose - one step at a time.

Hey friend,

I've been thinking a lot this week about what great leaders actually build.

Our culture tells us to build bigger platforms.
Bigger businesses.
Bigger ministries.
Bigger bank accounts.
Bigger influence.

And while none of those things are inherently bad... I don't think they're the greatest measure of success.

The greatest leaders don't simply build organizations...
They build people.

Because organizations eventually change.
Buildings wear out.
Strategies become outdated.
Profits rise and fall.

But investing in people has an eternal impact.

When you read through the life of Jesus, that's exactly what you see.

Yes, He taught crowds.
Yes, He performed miracles.
Yes, He changed the course of history.

But where did He spend most of His time?

With twelve ordinary people.

He poured into them.
He challenged them.
He encouraged them.
He corrected them.
He believed in them long before they believed in themselves.

Jesus knew something we often forget:

Healthy people build healthy homes.
Healthy churches.
Healthy businesses.
Healthy communities.

People are always the mission.

So here's a question I've been asking myself this week:

Who am I intentionally building?

Who needs encouragement?
Who needs a conversation?
Who needs someone to believe in them?
Who needs me to slow down long enough to invest in them?

Because the legacy we leave won't ultimately be measured by what we built.

It will be measured by who we built.

The best leaders don't simply build platforms, programs, or profits.
They build people.

And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.
2 Timothy 2:2 (NIV)

The Better Covenant

Better | Week 5 | Derek Fey

In Week 5 of our Better series through Hebrews, Derek Fey walks through Hebrews 8 and shows us that Jesus didn't simply improve the old covenant - He fulfilled it and established something entirely new.

So this week, don't just focus on crossing another project off the list or reaching another goal.

Look for someone to encourage.
Someone to coach.
Someone to pray for.
Someone to invite along.
Someone to remind that they're seen, valued, and deeply loved by God.

The best leaders don't simply build platforms, programs, or profits.

They build people.

And people are the one investment that lasts forever.

Praying,
Ryan

I've been reminded this week that there are some things only God can do. In the Old Testament, one of the words used for the Spirit of God is ruah. It's a beautiful word that means breath or wind....

WEEKLY PURSUIT with Ryan Helping you pursue God, people, and purpose - one step at a time. ryanspencerlutz.com Hey friend, This past Sunday, we spent some time talking about legacy. When most people hear that word, they think about accomplishments, success, influence, or what they'll be remembered for after they're gone. We tend to measure legacy by what we've built, what we've achieved, or what we've accumulated. But the more I've thought about it, the more convinced I am that the greatest...
